Blizzcon 2014 is coming up very soon. One of the most awaited tournaments is to find the top player worldwide for the game Hearthstone.  Sixteen of the world’s top players will be vying for the number one spot. I have not played Hearthstone in a very long time, but I do enjoy the game.  Hearthstone is a card based game.  You strategically play random cards from your deck to hopefully defeat your competition.

You will play as one of the heros of your choosing from the Warcraft franchise.  The hero that you choose is based on  the class that you would like to play.  Each class has its on unique ability that will assist you while playing your deck.  For example, I chose to play a warlock.  My ability is to  sacrifice 2 points of my health in order to gain 2 extra cards from my deck.

You can play this game absolutely free and earn new cards by playing against other competitors in ranked games.  You are also free to buy packs of cards.  However, the cards that you get will be random.

Hearthstone is very easy to learn.  Blizzard did an excellent job with the in-game tutorial.  The user interface is very user friendly and pleasing to the eye.  Some people may think that this game is pay to win.  I disagree.  Purchasing cards may make things easier for you.  However, if you are patient enough you can earn enough gold to create some very decent decks.  You can play the game against  a non player character.  You can choose to play against other players , and you can choose to play ranked games.  If you have a friends that also play  Hearthstone you all can choose to play against each other.

If you haven’t tried this game, I really do recommend that you at least try it.  You may have fun or even become addicted!
